The New Generation of Home Light Therapy Devices

As light therapy continues to gain the wider global acceptance as an alternative a non- invasive and drug free treatment for many medical conditions the R&D engineers have been busy improving the home use devices.  The result is we now have more effective, easier to use and affordable devices  for the home use by the consumer.

Light therapy is no longer in the exclusive domain of clinics and now home use units allow the user the advantage of daily home therapy with all the convenience, more frequent use and cost savings.

The next generation of home use LIGHT Therapy products have arrived !

Powerful, broad spectrum and re-chargeable units are now becoming available so the user is not “Tethered” to a power outlet but can have a therapy unit for “On the go”, mobile, use. Re-chargeable through the laptop or USB wall adapter.

If the therapy is for Pain, Anti-Ageing, Acne or Oral Health these new generation products are here now at affordable prices to the end user.

BLT (Brilliant Light Therapy) is a leader in bringing innovative Light Therapy Devices to consumers in the UK and Europe.

BLT are launching the first five of these new generation products during October 2019, in the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. The new products are for “Home use”   with  applications  for Anti Ageing, Pain, Acne and Oral Health.

In order for you to choose the right product it is helpful to have a basic understanding of the, proven published, scientific  evidence  for  LED Phot-bio modulation  or– Low Level Light Therapy “LLLT”.

"LED stands for Light Emitting Diode, it is a computer chip encased in a glass-like resin, which emits therapeutic wavelengths (or colours) of light energy,"

When used consistently, over time, LED lights penetrate your skin at different depths and cause various reactions in your skin, such as fighting acne-causing bacteria, plumping skin and reducing wrinkles.

LED lights for skin care and pain are  Infrared (Invisible to the human eye) and  Red,

Blue light kills bacteria that causes acne and gum disease, plus red/infrared stimulates collagen production to help speed the natural healing process.

JUST a LITTLE MORE SCIENCE !

RED and INFRARED – wavelength 620 nm – 670 nm (Red) – Infrared  -700 nm to 1200 nm

If the therapeutic light energy is in the correct wavelength, the cells in the dermis layer of skin will convert that light energy into ATP (adenosine triphosphate), which is the fuel that the cell uses to do its job. The fibroblast cells in the dermis layer have the job of producing collagen (which give the skin fullness or that plumped look) and elastin (which give the skin the ability to bounce back). Thus, LED gives the cells a 'full tank of fuel' and these fibroblast cells start to produce collagen and elastin like when one was 20-25 years old.

Near-infrared LEDs will appear unlit because their energy is not visible to the human eye. However, they are just as powerful as the red you can see and actually penetrate the body deeper.

BLUE LIGHT  - wavelength – 400 to 490 nm

Blue Light therapy is used to for wound healing in clinical situations but is also is particularly effective for acne and oral health.

When Blue light is applied to the skin it kills the acne-causing bacteria known as Propionibacterium acnes, or P acnes, which can cause inflammation. P acnes is sensitive to blue light. Using the blue light, eliminates the bacteria found in the oil glands in the skin. The added presence of infrared light (heat) in the home devices causes the oil glands to shrink in size. The result is less oil in the skin and less bacteria, leading to  resolution of acne in the treated areas.

When Blue light is applied to the gums ( Through a special mouthpiece similar to a mouth guard) the light kills the “ Destructive” bacteria but does not destroy “Helpful” bacteria – unlike a mouthwash. Destructive bacteria known as BPB (Black Pigmented Bacteria) is implicated with periodontitis which can lead to destroy gum tissue and bone – leading to loss of teeth.

“Technology employing blue light to improve oral ecology could be the most important advancement in maintaining periodontal health since the invention of the toothbrush.”- Dr. Goodman D.D.S., Forsyth Institute  Harvard Medical School

LED therapy devices have no contra-indications of any kind.
